Gold is too heavy to carry into heaven!

Poem Artwork

Garnered seeds for the soul!

Much gold and silver I garnered not

To store in vaults so deep

Other treasures I had sought

That does much longer keep

I seeded flowers in the spring

To see their beauty bright

They’re being, others soon would bring

To give my soul delight

The little ladybug so cute

The hummingbird so sweet

Some would play the flute

Others would just beep

The little mole so helpless blind

Would do what it does best

Tunnel deep its food to find

In velvet cloth was dressed

A little mouse so sweet and dear

For sanctuary sue

It’s me it wanted near

Sat once upon my shoe

The chickadee my special friend

It knew my heart so true

Helping it for food to fend

With open hand would woe

The raven too, a special kind

Sat eyes upon my soul

To see if wisdom it would find

Or just a darkened hole

So many friends my heart did hold

Magnolias in the spring

From bumblebee to chipmunk bold

All my heart made sing

Little pups and kittens too

My heartstrings plugged so strong

When together we sang so true

We had a special song

Quiet conversations hold

In spirits guest inhabit all

Where all from Gayas fold

Many tiny, or so tall

In rainbow blends, and spirit song

All would sing a tune

Some would whisper, some sing strong

Be it fall or June

With heart and soul I listened in

To see what they would share

All innocent and bare of sin

They loved that I did care

And if a saw bug or a worm

Cry out to me, watch out

Or else their flesh be torn

I heard their little shout

I cared for where my boot would step

Looked twice to see if friend

Watch out and not forget

Not cause them harm, or end

What have I gathered you would say?

If not emerald or gold?

Have gathered riches that will stay

And friends among Gods fold

And should the time draw near

As surely as it does

For lack of friends I have no fear

Or of financial loss

Their love and wisdom in my soul

Forever it shall be

No need store riches in a hole

All them I had for free

When all our souls in Gods domain

From earth bounds then set free

Shall see them all again

Without a bankers fee

Riches in such vaults are stored

Forever they will keep

Will share them with you, and the lord

No need, for me to weep!

If only far more human souls cared as you do, what a truly wonderful world it could be.

We should enjoy the last of the little, because soon, Mammon will exice everything else from the face of the earth.
That someone, like you, still does care should give a warning shot to those sitting on the fences waiting that others do it for them.
Great piece.

What a wonderful write my friend, you've penned a beautiful tribute to life, and all the treasures that are laid up here will mean nothing when we get to Heaven for we can't take silver and gold, but we will share a wonderful life where the lion will lay down with the lamb and Jesus will light that glorious city...what so many call treasures here on earth are meaningless, what others envision as treasures lies within a small creature of God's created by His own hand...miracles my friend, that's what I see when I watch the little hummingbirds in my flower garden, or an inch work slowly making his way along the edge of the drive, and even the small little crawdads as they crawl along the bottom of the creek bed beneath the clear creek waters...all little gifts and miracles from Heaven...an inspiring write my friend, your work always moves me in a special way and speaks to my heart! Have a great weekend!
Blessings from Ky.
