You live the best way you know at the moment, some times the bet pays off, other times it doesn't, but you have to play all your chips if you can, or else you're dead before your time!

Poem Artwork

Life is a gamble!

Deep therein lies the spook, hidden,

Is it because, yes, my eyes pinched,

Around my hidden soul, fear smitten,

Wanting to see deep, and far, but, yet not near it inched

Recoil from twisted and long vines,

Leading on a winding road, to maybe,

Am I, or not, answers it declines,

Will, never I be, from imagined knowing free?

A Look beyond, with eyes closed tight,

Not really, wanting all there is, to see,

Unknowns cause me fright,

Who is? Or might I come to be

The call is there; please place your bets,

My chips are down to one,

The reapers hand, my last one gets,

And now I’m down to none

No more guessing now, how fast to turn the wheel,

If colours black or red,

And if I won my bet, how happy I would feel,

Some one else now holds the chips, you guessed it, I am dead!

Very good poem, Jasmin, and profound thought too. You are so very correct in your thinking because some day each one of us will personally play our last chip. The trick is to be prepared for the consequences of the game...Jerry
