Sweet loving abandoned pets, searching desperately for a meal. How many care for their awful blight?

Poem Artwork

Homeless humans can talk, but those little ones we made can’t!

Have you seen my sweet little pooch please tell me,
I am distraught looking for her searching, searching, everywhere,
Last night I seen her in my dreams eating ants to survive, skinny as can be,
One side of her face, someone had disfigured, covered with plastic and maggots bear,
Other little sweet pooches and kittens frantic searching for food, an awful sight,
Searching, scratching the ground, where not much food was found, frantically, distraught,
This is what I dreamt last night, distraught I asked myself have I caused that blight?
My little Jasmin is my all, my deepest of all things loving and beautiful, what have I wrought,
Crying tears as I awoke with heartbreak and sorrow, no happiness I found, after the dream,
Hurting like no tomorrow, I said what have I done, what is she saying, she’s calling out,
I picked her up as I always did, and she let me, she knew me well would seem,
I held her close, I cried and held her close, so close, yet cursing words I shout,
The gods who play this game, and put innocence to shame, I will kill you if I can,
Cruel to the utmost, then I remember, it is us them testing, what’s your response,
This what my little one was asking, are you helping, have you got a plan,
Have you forgotten our covenant of love, have you helped just once?
What are you doing to make aware, all those others that might care?
While I hurt and suffer, and all my brethrens too, there are many, not just few,
We are hurting in misery, in blight and distraught, that our daily fare,
God has forgotten us, or his people, or all of humanity, we are suffering because of you,
Abandoned and forgotten, thrown into the street, without means, or skill,
Miserable in weather cold and hot, no shelter and no food, and ill we are,
One meals fare, would feed us for a week, not worse that the ugly puppy mill,
Or the kennels breed, but now abandoned, so not their convenience mar,
They all, they made us, in the image of the almighty dollar, to be traded like slaves,
And if no more wanted, thrown to the gutter, no love or care, we can’t talk,
While their cheap wine glasses toast their dollar success and greed, and their face it saves,
No hugs and kisses, no care, no one to take us for a walk,
Have you forgotten those of mine, than you have forgotten me, listen to my cry,
I am calling you, please help, I am hurting, and will you help those little ones like me,
Please, I know you love me dearly, find a way, I know you won’t say why,
Please find a way, whatever you have to do, you know I love you, and you love me, and always in love together we shall be! But help!

Those of us who care for and about pets understand how this tugs at our conscience. We can only pray that others will be enlightened by their plight.

God bless you. Kathy

BRAVO! To another wonderful pet spokesperson. These beautiful creatures ask only for a little food, shelter, and care. In return they will be ever so faithful and loving...hey, even lower your bloodpressure! This IS a hankie-needing read, Jasmin.

And, remember ALL ...help to avoid homelessness by spaying and/or neutering your pets!

I hope many finally start listening, my friend. There are far too many of them out there, and if each and every one of us helped just one, there would soon be far less.

Thank You, For Speaking Out, For Them. They truly need many more spokespersons and compassionate human beings today.

They, that never experienced hunger cannot fathom the deeps of that desperation and the weight of that heartsickness, apply it to any stray creature out there and you will think twice before thinking that animals can't feel.
Extraordinary article.
