There must be other options, and if my soul botheres me, I would find them, and if it doesn't that is worrisome.

To the brave Sealers!

Is that true ?
I’m asking you,
You your bloodshed rue,
Then why if sealing is your life,
Not be more kind
Would cause the critters far less strife?

With you I make a bet;
Would I beat you about the head,
You soon retaliate instead,
And your attacker’s blood would shed,
Yet you know you’re safe,
With ease my coat can get,

And if others of your species kind,
Your cruelty they mind,
To my slaughter not so blind,
Some kindness in your heart to find,
Hatred to them show,
To violence resigned,

To kill me for my skin,
You don’t find that a sin,
Because I’m not your kin,
Could I ever win?
My newborn take in front of me,
For a lousy fin,

This then thorn, that in your soul,
To make a buck, your only goal,
With cruelty you stole,
And trade for fashions dole,
This you say is fair,
To make your life more whole,

In wooden boats go out to sea,
With iron hooks come after me,
To fell me like a tree,
No matter how I plea,
You have a heart you said,
That I’ve yet to see,

Million men find other means,
Do make a living so it seems,
Without the killing and the screams,
Or your murderess schemes,
Why won’t you?
It could change all your dreams,

Have you searched your soul of late?
Try such misery abate,
Such acts of cruelty and hate,
Before you at the pearly gate,
If I were you, I would not wait.

This is powerful, Jasmin-Horst, and I applaud your gallantry for taking up this cause! I can't imagine anyone having the need of such pelts...from babies! If we could stop the demand...the killings would cease, I think.

This is what the world has come to....if no blood is running greed might bleed...and that is not ecceptable to money hunger humans!!

A sad situation for the vulnerable!!

Then again, no matter what, it will be always the collective responsability and the share of the blame, no matter how we try to set us well aside, the blame will be there...

Jasmin,

The seals have a voice in you, in Mr. Ed, in others who want to see this practice abolished. May your voices be heard. :( Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

We have truly become a world of death, destruction, and murder for profit, and I often wonder if all our souls are not already lost.

And although I simply cannot understand how anyone can club an innocent baby to death, these sealers are not entirely to blame. They sell the pelts to clothing manufacturers who make seal coats, and sell them to consumers. If people would no longer buy fur coats, of any kind, it would become unprofitable, and pointless, for this mass murder of innocent creatures to continue.

Every time I see someone wearing a fur coat, I cringe, and I wonder how they can even look themselves in the mirror, wearing another living being's skin.

"To kill me for my skin,

This is exceptional writing for the cause Jas!
I hope and pray it will get through to some ,and
make a difference. It is such a horrific practice
the way they murder those poor baby seals
bludgeoninng them to death! Wonder if that's how
they will meet their end! It would be justice!
