To Micke's little poem with compliments!

Poem Artwork

Thieves!

Them little thieves there, Micke,
Do they look like that?
Tell them apart, might be tricky,
And, they might be hard to track,
A friend of mine, by name of Streeting,
With camera in her hand,
Caught him in a moment fleeting,
Hiding contraband,
A poster we could put, like they did, with Jessie James,
Of him discreetly hiding in the wood,
As long, his thieving methods, no one blames,
For his inner child is good.

Isn't he beautiful! These animals are sooo sweet. I've fed them bowls of dry cat food and they love it! They come to my back yard only after dark, 'tho, and sometimes I don't see them; but I can tell they've been by: the food is gone and fresh water bowl is dirty from their "washing up" :o) Very clever and enjoyable poem, and Thank You, dear friend!!
Blessings and Love~~ Micke

I think their inner child is very good! I love that pic, and you might enjoy one of my posted stories about these charming little critters - The Saga of Rocky, Rockette, and Bandit!

Loved this, we had a pesky little guy like this on our farm a few years ago. He didn't really seem to bother much, he would get in the garbage bin outside if he could. His favorite thing to do was sit on a big flat rock on the creek bed and eat crawdads, he would leave the shells behind on the rock along with his little foot prints in the mud. Ocassionally he would steel a nibble of corn from the garden, just enough to for dinner. I would never tell when I saw his trail, or the broken stalk of corn, what he took we never missed! My husband caught him raiding the garden one night and set a live trap for him, he took him to back to the top of the mountains and set him free...I guess he's still roaming the hills happily for we've not had signs by the creek or the garden in a number of years. Loved the write and the picture, what a great capture on film!
Blessings from the mountains,
Joyce B.

I had a racoon friend that would come by the evening to fech the nuts and assorted pieces of food that a boy would thing it would like. Even taking nuts from the palm of my hand and lettin me to pet him.
Thieves? nooooooooooo! we were the thieves invading his home!

Precious photo, Jasmin! They also make delightful pets. But I remember, in Monterey, CA, walking out under a tree at night, hearing a rustle, and shining a light upward, being confronted with seven big racoons ... with TEETH!!! Scared me to death! But they do make fat and cuddly pet-buddies.
