Please, please, don’t ask for more,
I am broke my heart is sore,
You looking at me,
Such sad eyes I see,
Puppy, bear, or cat,
The last coins in my cap,
I’d send you more I would,
If I only could,
You keep looking in my heart,
It’s tearing me apart,
Such misery, it needs to stop,
Some order from the top,
But you’re just a slave, who cares,
Disposable your wares,
No votes you cast,
No questions ask,
Why should I care for you?
I just know I do,
Can relate your misery and blight,
That is surely worth a fight,
The malaise of time just now,
Has hit you hard somehow,
No one your loan secures,
It’s not even yours,
But on the street you are,
A moment past you were a star,
Now no roof to hide your head,
You’re wandering the streets instead,
So many God, so many,
Little food they have if any,
No home no more, no care,
No one their love to share,
Their owners have it really tough,
But this is really rough,
It won’t be weeks and some are dead,
Not a tear their owners shed.

If only we could enlist millions of caring souls like yourself, we could stop all this misery. I keep hoping, and working, and I truly hope that some day soon, a caring younger generation takes up the battle.
