I ask myself that all the time,
Left to myself, would I be fine?
If I had no God, say, he left,
Left, I of his care bereft,

Would I survive, how would I manage?
Could anyone survive such damage?
Not be wanted, by your own creator,
What future, be there now for me, or later?

I asked myself that every day and often,
But not my worries will it soften,
I look at him, with pleading eyes,
You will not tell me any lies?

Nothing special does I want or favours,
Just some food with different flavours,
And the knowing he’s still true ,
Despite the fact I chewed his shoe,

I do admit, that little sins I do commit,
Like, when peeing on the floor, I did,
Of ignorance I plead guilty, often,
Will that his judgement soften?

I wonder, do you ever wonder?
Of the far horizons yonder,
Your maker’s far and distant place,
Do you ever meet him face to face?

Ever think about it just the same,
Will you run to him, if he calls your name?
Or will you hide your face in shame,
Or maybe ignorance you claim?

He moulded you from clay,
And did it all his way,
He tamed your nature just to be,
As he made you, so you tamed me,

A disclaimer did not mention,
That only you, his prime intention,
Would he, not then your example be?
And you, unlike him, abandon me.

 Reviews of "A doggy's lament!"

An interesting mix of thoughts and emotions, which I read as my two big, boisterous Siberian Huskies (both rescue dogs, I should add) rolled around at my feet (each undoubtedly overjoyed in its uncritical dogger manner to be here with someone who reflects those very ideas you allude to in this piece). While I do not believe in God (or even 'gods' in the generic sense) myself, that does not act to prevent me from loving all living creatures equally and honoring their lives as I do my own. Nice read, Jasmin. Mahalo nui loa!

First, your sins ain't little brother, and no disclaimer can save your tush from a tour of the one with horns BBQ, then again, you have a couple up there that can vouch for the nagging little brother LOL
Many dogs are lamenting, but none of them were mine, perhaps God is getting impatient because my dogs can have a mind of their own.

Next Arrivals by Robin Ouzman Hislop

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
