Five fingers on a hand they have, but yet can't count, billions in precious resources wasted, catching the horse after it left the barn, but why would it run away in the first place if it were happy where it was, tell me?

Poem Artwork

Five fingers on a hand,
Painted green,
It grows in Lotosland,
Not in the open see,
What is it you ask?
Where, is usually the question?
Some guy dressed in red,
Take you to task,
It prefers the open air,
Yet it has to hide,
Away from sight,
In some drug lords lair,
Religious groups and such,
And thems that govern,
For this hand don’t care,
Not too very much,
It’s for our health they worry,
What hypocrites they are,
Sell beer and wine and spirits,
But that’s another story,
It’s all that smoke they say,
Pollutes the air and such,
And you’re far to happy,
Instead of work you’d play,
Don’t smile, there’s your licence,
Happiness is out,
Look serious my friend,
That’s your best defence,
Too bad such lovely plant,
Innocent and precious,
Never sees the light of day,
Their guilty pleas recant,
Imprisoned such a child of God,
He himself has made,
I’m sure he knew what for,
When he stuck it in the sod,
Smoking causes cancer,
But chimney stacks they belch,
More tons, then I could ever smoke,
Yet this concern not answer,
It’s happiness that is verboten,
To weekends and to beer,
Two days you have to yodel,
One day to pray to Odin,
It’s all so nice and need,
And so unnatural too,
Like living in a zoo,
As if, to your life they held the deed,
Million suffer homeless and hunger,
Worry every day about a meal,
Their health no one cares,
Soon will smoke no longer,

Billions though we spend on troopers,
To stop the harvesting of weed,
And all its compliments and seed,
Only government can make such bloopers,

Happiness is what is lacking all around,
I wonder why, what is the cause,
I am happy, I’m in comfort,
I wonder if the cause be found,

I can imagine though, no love, no food, no shelter,
A life that’s helter skelter,
No caring mom or dad, or next door neighbour,
Just judgement from those that has, some elder,

Come on let happiness us share,
Don’t blame a weed,
Or drugs or speed,
Blame those that do not care.

Hi Jasmin, again another truth very well written. There are few states in US that can grow it legally, but need license and sponsors, and same few states need a dr's prescription to buy/smoke the stuff. But hey, I've never seen the "illegal" use of it damage anyone or anything like prescribed use of drugs have done. To think about it is a trip in itself.... keep writing, my friend, and stay strong...

Yes it is ironic, not sure about the US but here in Canada we can have it prescribed by a doctor for a pain control and buy legal yet they say they can't leagalize because it is not healthy...go figure.

I just knew you were smokin in your last post! And there are far too many of those blasted, belching, 24-hour a day, old chimney stacks around - everywhere - yet no one seems to care.

But light up that smoke - and my God, you've polluted the Entire Earth!
