a poem i wrote after i Lost my soulmate to Cancer-

IncoIncomplete

Without him, I am incomplete,
ever measuring, what is missing,
mourning, even the smallest of things,
in addition to, the total loss of him.

Feeling like a shoe, without a lace,
a fork, without a spoon,
a flower, without a stem,
the sun, without the moon.

The days pass, in a haze of disbelief,
thoughts racing, looking for their conduit,
searching, for the connection to him,
falling lifeless, as realization, again dawns.

Like a tree, without a trunk,
thoughts, that now go, unshared,
like a shell, without an egg,
a soul, that goes unbared.

Trudging past, total sorrow, of the absence,
such tiny things, that its taken months,
to even realize, they are the seeds,
from whence, the overall plant, of love, bloomed.

Like a photo,without a frame,
a book, without words,
a house, without a foundation,
lyrics, with no song.

My roots, lie open and bare,
bliss, decimated because of fate,
my love overflowing, with no recepticle,
my soul, severed, from its mate.

o.L.D.,

Your pain is heartfelt in each line and verse. Losing someone so close is truely tragic. I pray closure and life see you through again to completeness. May God Bless You and Shelter You Under His Wing, Always Paul.

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
