A flight from darkness towards lightness, I wrote this last year.
"Have You Ever Believed That You Can Fly?"
by Amber Moonstone 5/29/06
Sometimes in my dreams late at night,
I know I am in flight.
I can feel the briskness of the evening air,
And I fly without a care.
Over the trees and the brook
always flying to look,
at the world through my mind's eye;
this is why I know I fly.
Reaching higher and higher.
I never seem to get tired.
In this evening flight
and during the dark of night,
I am watching and soaring,
to be sure my life is not boring.
Boredom is a darker thing,
that can surely bring,
unbalance and negative vibes,
so that my mind contrives,
thoughts that can bring me pain,
to only remain,
as a reminder of my true quest,
to seek peace and needed rest;
to bring happiness into my soul,
never to be bored or out of control.
I shall again take flight
this very night,
to find those answers of which I ponder,
so that my mind will never wander,
to that place of darker flight,
only finding that much needed light!
Author's Notes: Another poem about darkness and light. Well, to tell you the truth, in order to know what light truly is, one must have experienced the darkness.
Profound, yes, true of course!
Peace, Love and Light,

A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
