I wrote this a year ago, but the battle between Lightness and Darkness is ongoing!
"A New Day"

The battle rages on,
the light versus darkness
When the competition begins
Darkness invades your light.
It is like the thunderstorm
that creeps in and enters with a bang.
So is the darkness,
that bang of intrusion;
that seeps into your mind
and your thoughts,
to mess with your balance
and tranquility.
To gain shelter from this storm,
you must find clarity.
That clarity will bring
you shelter from that storm;
and you will find
"A New Day".
Author's Notes: I was talking to my daughter about all the rain we had been having (over 8 days of it) and I had said we all need shelter from the storm, and I correlated it to relationships with men in our lives. Hence I wrote this poem today after seeing those notes I took when we were talking.
So this is dedicated to you Ness, my beautiful daughter.

There were so many times in my life that I had to seek shelter from the rough times, or to recover from losses. Your writing reminds me of the rain in my own life. To me, rain is symbolic of hard times, or sadness. However, after reading this poem, it reminds me of a new start, and rebirth. Clarity does shelter us, and the new day is something we will see after we have gained clarity. Amazing writing! I admire your work
Like the fact that you can make something out of a rainy day and give to your daughter great dedication. Your writing inspires me to thank the good Lord for poets and people like you. You are surely blessed in your life and work.
