Well I have read your words and all the reviews and everyone has good points. I'dhate to see my kids like you said hanging out at Starbucks, puffing on a smoke and sucking back a coffee and feeding their arteries but even worst than that I'd hate to see them with alcohol and drugs hanging out in some dark alley selling their wares. See Amber you sure got s all thinking. Thank you for sharing your concern.

Well although that is bad, the alternative is even worst...doing crack or esctcasy in some dive dump and turning tricks to make enough to afford it. Looking at it from that perspective...a no fat latte and a laptop at Starbucks seems like a haven

I just saw something about this on the news - very young kids now addicted to both caffeine and nicotine; what a world we now live in - truly a Starbucks world.

Dear Amber, I thank you for bringing up this subject. I did not dare saying a word. Yes I see what you see but. I saw also a mother telling her son here are 100 dollars and don't come back before ten o'clock. You can were the sanity went. If grown-ups dont have it how can we expect kids to have it. Love Emile

I don't know if sanity has gone any farther from this generation then from ours --- I certainly pulled off some unsane, not to mention insane, stunts. Its in the genes ..

...and sanity is a parent...many times...smoking, drinking, with latte...right next to their child who...within its small hand...has a card gifted with many dollars signs upon a strip...to continue their journey...of lost sanity.

Cigarettes are a death wish. I think it's sad when young people do anything to harm their health but I have to say in all honesty if they are drinking coffee and not doing hard drugs, though perhaps not ideal, their moderation is something to be thankful for.

Technology
is the new diety
it is replacing the creator
so believe humanity
racing to complete
productions before the sun
so beautifully submerges
into it's sepulchre
but I as the eagle say
pull the plug
and see the great Deception

lose it's power

we will see the return

and our eyes
reach for the heavens

I like your poem. I recently landed a job for a computer company in the bay area, silicon valley, it seems like humanity is being pushed to the limits to keep up with the speed of computers. technology supposedly has all our problems in check, this is the new agers god.

One can only wonder, but I think it went too far! When one cannot discipline their child without having fear of being reported to the Child Welfare office or when one can't celebrate Christmas (but they can celebrate "Diversity Day" and talk about gay rights), something is most definitely wrong! I think we went downhill when we took prayer/discipline out of the homes and schools! Powerfully expressed write!

Amber, When I grew up it was a family of 10 around the table for dinner 7 days a week, Seems like those days are over, or very rare.
