"Journey Toward A New Home" (Karena Series)

In a matter of moments,
Pocahontas came running to us,
She was yelling for us to join them,
To come with them on their journey.

My heart leaped,
I knew that if we joined them,
we would be safe and happy.
There was an air of love and unity with these people.

I grabbed my children and set off
with the most influencial tribe in our nation.
I will make them proud to have chosen
"Karena, Eagle Medicine Woman" and family

The journey was long and hot,
we traveled by daylight most of the time.
During the evening, we lit fires
ate greedily from our hunted game.

My children played for hours,
under the supervision of  Pocahontas
They soon, began to love this Princess,
and felt at peace with her gentle ways.

Early one morning, upon awakening
I saw Pocahontas singing to the birds,
and there was magic in her voice.
She had a very beautiful singing voice.

I knew at that moment,
that she was chosen for greatness
Her beauty radiated an aura of peace,
Tranquility, and love.

One day, during a conversation the Chief
told me the circumstances of her birth.
He had many wives, but Pocahontas's mother, was the love of his life.

Her mother's name was Pocahontas.
She died in childbirth
and the Chief was grief stricken.
He named her Pocahontas after her mother.

She was every bit like her mother,
kind, gentle, loving,
and most of all peaceful.
She held a very special place in his heart.

You could see the love they shared,
It was very special,
A bond that would last for eternity.
Chief Powhatan called on me once again.

Pocahontas delivered a message to me, "Karena, Eagle Medicine Woman", 
You must go to my father's Tipi,
He requests counsel with you".
She promised to watch my children for me.

I ran to the Chief's Tipi,
announced my arrival and graciously bowed.
He said, "Sit, my dear healer,"
As I sat upon a deerskin, I felt a cold chill.

"I have watched you tend to our sick,
  I have watched you counsel with the Elders
  and I have watched you with Pocahontas,
  I want you to be our Medicine Woman."

I was stunned, this is just unbelievable.
I looked at him directly into his eyes,
and at that moment I knew he was not
going to be here too much longer.

I could not refuse, I said,
"Chief Powhatan, I would be honored and
most happy to become a part of your tribe,
and serve as your Medicine Woman."

"Then It is settled, you are now officially
Karena,  Powhatan's Medicine Woman!"
there was a huge celebration that evening,
and I was the guest of honor.

My children were so happy,
they now had a family,
and the security of safety and love.
I thanked the Great Spirit and Tumas that night.

We finally arrived at our destination,
It was a beautful area, with  a lake
and lots of fish and game to hunt.
This was going to be a glorious home!
