"Karena's Meditation Moment" (Karena Series)

Standing before Powhatan,
Tumas asks, "What is going on here?
Please, Powhatan, tell me".
Sadness consumes the Chief.

"Tumas, You were a mighty warrior,
One of the best, during a fire you were lost,
We thought you to be dead, until
Karena and a  my warriors discovered you.

You must talk to the Great Spirit,
ask for your soul to be returned to your people
in order to do what you were destined for.
You must return to your people!"

Tumas looked at Powhatan,
with eyes of a true warrior,
"I have been living amongst white people,
my wife has nursed me back to health,
we have been together now for 30 moons,
I cannot abandon her."

"You must find your heritage,
put your mind and soul back in place,
come here my son."
As Powhatan embraced Tumas,
the Great Spirit spoke,

"Tumas, Powhatan, two mighty warriors,
times are becoming very dark, you must unite, and lead your people toward safety,
and a better way of life, act now!"

Tumas looked at Powhatan, bowed his head
and left the Chief's dwelling.
Karena was outside of the doorway,
and they bumped into each other.

Tumas looked at her and began to cry,
"Oh my dear medicine woman, can you find me a cure for what ails me?  I need your help, can you help me?"

She could not resist his time of need,
and she led him to her dwelling.
As he approached the portal to her world,
He felt a strange sensation as if he were home.

Standing alone in Karena's sacred world,
made him feel a sense of safety and peace,
"Who was this incredible medicine woman?
what am I doing here alone with her."

Karena began her breathing excercises, getting into the healing level that she was
going to need.  As she reached her meditative state, she began to tell Tumas
what she was seeing.

I see a fire burning out of control,
people running in all different directions,
children crying, and women screaming,
You are running toward the fire.

Calling out to the Great Spirit to help you
save your family from this fire.
You cannot reach the water,
and you are consumed by the smoke.

Left for dead, you crawl toward the river,
As you reach the river bed, a white woman,
helps you to her dwelling.
She takes care of you for many moons.

You are confused but grateful,
and you become healthy once again.
Farming, and paying her back.
She accepts you into her life, and you are married in the white man's church.

Now you have become restless,
wanting to have peace between
the white man and the Powhatan people,
you are living a life of confusion."

Tumas is in a dreamlike state,
not knowing how this woman can tell
him all of these things that are true .
He is amazed at her ability.

Karena comes out of her meditation,
"Tumas, sorry, Daniel, are you all right?
I do not know what I have said, for when
I am in that state of mind, It is not within
my own memory. I hope it has helped."

"Karena, You are an amazing Medicine
woman, I shall take what you have told me,
and go back home and ponder all of it,
thank you kind woman for your time and help."
