Karena Doubts Her Dream

"Go Toward The North, where the sun sets, east,
travel for 6 moons, and settle in
the bay for the rest of your life,
do this as a favor to your Father".

This dreams lives every moment
in her minds eye.
She cannot shake the eerie message
of her beloved father,  Chief White Eagle "

He has always given her sound advise,
Wisdom from the Eagle Spirit,
and love that was shared
by her mother, "Dancing Heart".

She has been trying to follow her dream,
but doubts keep running in the way.
She cannot shake the need to stay with
Chief Powhatan and his people.

"What Is My Father Thinking?
Why has he spoken such things?
What Am I to do?
Tumas does not want to leave.

"Oh Great Spirit, Please hear me,
I need your guidance and wisdom.
Should I uproot my family once again
just when we have found a home.

Or should I listen to the words of my dream,
The clear vision of my beloved father?
I will go to the mountain and ask for help
from the Universe and My Eagle Spirit Guide.

Karena calmly gathered a few of her tools,
and set off on a journey to find her answers.
During the walk to the mountain path,
she came across an elder that was meditating.

You never disturb them  while in meditation.
She walked slowly past Wounded Dove,
toward the pathway, as quietly as a deer.
Karena could hear Wounded Dove chanting.

It was a beautiful sound, soothing and calming,
She could envision what Wounded Dove was thinking,
"Oh My she is worried that I will be leaving,
she does not want her Medicine woman to go."

"What should I do, just walk toward my path, or
disturb Wounded Dove." Karena was in turmoil.
"Karena, Is that you?, I must speak with you".
"Yes Wounded Dove, It is I, Karena, your Medicine Woman".

"Karena, you must not leave our people,
we need your healing powers and wisdom.
Chief Powhatan is not a well man, you know that,
I have seen a vison,  this will send him to the spirit world."

"You must not tell me such things, Wounded Dove,
I must do as my father, Chief White Eagle has asked.
He has never given me the wrong advise.  I fear for my
family, if I do not take them and leave."

"Karena, I understand but the Great Spirit has given me
a vision, and our Chief will not survive without you and Tumas, he needs both of you  to fight for his people.
Can you leave and know this truth?"

"Please, Wounded Dove, I must go speak with the Great
Spirit myself.  I must hear the wisdom from the Universe and our Great Spirit before I can make a decision.
Do not speak about this until I return next morning."

With that, Karena set off toward the mountain peak,
Her sacred place where she finds all of her answers from
the Universe and her relationship with the Great Spirit.
Nothing was to disturb this journey,
she needs some answers!
