Rain
by Amber "V" Moonstone

Raindrops collecting
teardrops falling
tenderness spills
with each drop that falls.
Watching the rain
brings sadness
into my soul,
knowing that you are not here.
Distance has entered our lives,
you are somewhere up North
resting your weary bones,
meditating and thinking.
I stare out the window,
thinking of you,
wondering if it is raining
where you are.
The drops continue
their steady beat
as they saturate the ground
like a mystical love song.
The steady sound,
leaves rainbows within my mind,
gladness fills my soul
and I think of you.
Can you hear me calling your name,
It resonates within the rain,
my sadness washes away
as the rain penetrates the infertile ground.
Clarity sparkles like the raindrops
the wind carries my love message
"It is time to drop all pretenses
and return, to my safe harbor ".

it has been doing here in Chicago. I liked your
last 8 stanzas.
Always,

Sheila
such a bittersweet poem ... sometimes, the rain like tears clarifies what we see ... powerful emotions in this poem ...
I love the last four lines.

brings out our soul in all its
vulnerability and longing
but, too, in its beauty, clarity and hope
and its understanding of the real.

The lover far away. The rain exacerbates the longing. The pretenses cause hearts to ache and groan for absolution. Good poem.
