I began writing this piece to wake us all up as to how our freedoms and rights are being ground into the dirt and that we need a second revolution. I was ready to finish it after I finished the 5th verse when I received an inspiration. Was it from God? Could have been. I don't really know but I listened and understood. Think about it, my friends! In today's technology, do we really need scores and scores of people in Congress to represent us? We already know the answer and the answer is an astounding, NO! The question now is, how do we make it right? REVOLUTION? I hope to God not a bloody one but the fact remains that we do need a revolution. It's time to stand up and be heard. We can and we must do it! The Constitution tells us it is not only OUR RIGHT but it is also OUR DUTY!
Be careful not to tread on me
Like the rattlesnake we will bite
So walk lightly along your trail
'Tis God will lead us in this fight
This is one nation under God
With Him on our side we can't lose
We the people are warning you
Be careful with each step you choose
Not a single law should be passed
If we the people do object
Be sure you are the people's voice
You are not God, just our elect
This may be your final warning
For the people will rise again
It is our right and our duty
It's only a question of when
One more time so you understand
We won't take your bull anymore
It's time to keep our rights in mind
That's what you were elected for
But wait, something just crossed my mind
We've no longer a need for you
Not with today's technology
We waste our taxes on you fools
Time to reconstruct our Congress
One Rep, one Senator from each state
With a rate of pay that is fair
WE THE PEOPLE control your fate
BTW, I just read in Playboy that New Hampshire drinks more beer per capita than any other state! What ever happened to Wisconsin? Anyway, thought that might be the source of some of the inspiration and mistaking rock formations for people. ;-)
When two men hit the reset button and decide to go out looking for the good in the world, they not only find it but also a lot more.
