My Baby Brother
Through the eyes of Amy
When first I saw you in mummy’s arms
I was so besotted with your charms
Your tiny hands and dainty face
Did so make my heart race
With deep blue eyes that brightly glow
The perils of life they are yet to know
I’ll keep you safe with loving care
When trouble comes together we’ll share
I sometimes sit and watch you sleep
Then to my bed I slowly creep
Until the morn I hear you cry
Don’t worry Tom, I’m always nigh
I always wonder of what you dream
I do so wish it could be seen
Perhaps our dreams they are akin
The mystic fantasies that lay within
Of the round table, you maybe a knight
For damsel’s virtues you vow to fight
Or a pirate with a quest
For gold doubloons and treasure chest.
When you grow, we may drift apart
There’s someone else to share your heart
She’ll give you love in different ways
Until the ending of your days
When that day comes, I’ll stand aside
And give my blessings to your new bride
Although there may, now be another
You will always be my baby brother
I love you Tom
