Climb

I would pack up my life,
hit the trail of dust,
no borders would I see,
mountains not an obstacle,
but stone of steps to lead,
this shackled heart that paid the price,
to be unlocked and finally set free

Some need a big backpack to carry their lives, others are not so lucky they can just put it in the back pocket to be crushed when eventually sitting on it.
Freedom, to be at the edge of the abyss and could fly from there like a Bald Eagle on a blue sky with fifty stars showing the way.

You speak of "climbing"...which means pressing forward...striving...and I think, at times, it's important to start anew...to leave the old behind...as long as we DO climb and move forward. Life is about choices...and although life can often be filled with difficult choices, I often think that we make life more difficult than it really is. I like this a lot Christine...it goes into my library-

YEAH...AT TIMES IT DOES SEEM LIKE A GOOD WAY TO BE 'SET FREE' BUT IF YOU HANG IN THERE...'THE CLIMB' WILL REVEAL ITSELF TO BE MOST REWARDING AND WORTH EVERY MOMENT IT TOOK TO REACH THE TOP. BLESSINGS AND THANKS FOR SHARING. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

This poem is so intensely deep. I did just that in 2003, I left my 30yr marriage with just a few things, and started all over again. My choice. I have never been more free of mind and body and spirit since my teenage years. I don't recommend it, but for me it was the best thing I ever did. I embrace your brave words and am reliving my freedom and exhilaration! Nicely done, Christine.
Peace, love, and light,

This reminds me how during World War II, we did exatly like you wrote. Suddenly we abandoned all the contents of our home, that was dear to us and moved to the plains and the mountains. We were suddenly free of everything. This was one of the beautiful days of freedom we experienced. No food, no water, no toys, no school, I was like a bird. Believe me, I understand the feeling of freedom. Good poem. Love Emile

Take to the road, one one to answer for,
Petal to the metal listen to her roar.
Wide open spaces, her mind is at rest,
I would have to say she is surely blessed.

There are many truths to learn in life's journey. One truth is that
everything in life has a price. Another is learning that even a perfect love is not perfect. When your heart feels shackled and you feel inappropriately confined in your relationship, then perhaps its time to learn another truth: No matter what your present situation, it will change. Sometimes we have to understand that we have to effect the change ourselves.

"Climb" is suggestive even by its title which describes an upward mobility in life.

For me, "Climb" is a thoughtful and provocative piece about life's journey.

A tight write packed with power!

Chrissie to pack up one's life and leave behind every thing you ever held dear is somthing that is so expensive you must truly take a long hard look at what you are giving up...I like the strong statement this makes and the love in the heart of the one who can make such a statement and be prepared to pay the ultimate price.

Freedom is not free and sometimes the cost is simply higher than we're able or willing to pay. Great write, Christine. God bless.
