Christine - you just get in the car and start it up.
But never drive out of the carport!
You put it into park and let the reader travel to where ever it is
going through their life at the moment.

when I see this in my life with strangers
since I know exactly how it feels
I always try to offer them the warmth of kindness
and when I see this too with those I know as Fee
mentioned it is easier because I can hug them...

but of course a sad stranger may like it?
Hugs are such a great feeling of compassion since we
all know how it feels to smile on the outside
for others when we don't inside our-self feel the same...

Chrissie, this says so much with so few words...each word seems to hit like a blow to the heart. To see such a sadness covered by a false smile in someone you love is tragic. To know their pain or even that they are in such pain and not knowing why or what you can do is so difficult to accept. Sad but excellant poem as always when you write...it comes out honestly and openly...
