My mother just had her birthday and I wrote this for her.

My Mother

She is God's greatest gift to me,
My loving mother, Emilie.
Though now confined unto a chair
Her cheerful smile is always there.

She taught me how to stand and fight
Life's battles with my hopes in sight.
She did not put her cards in fate,
In God she trusted, put her faith.

From her I learned how to endure
When hardships come, success unsure.
When brokenhearted, she told me-
"To love a man, you set him free."

Though stricken with paralysis,
When I call up she tells me this:
"Where you go or what you do,
I'm always praying, dear, for you."

I LOVE YOU AND I MISS YOU, MOM.
