Poem Artwork

I lay down in the rain
because I was too tired
to walk another step
and I slept as I cried
trying to awaken
from the dreams
that are ever dying
in my life.

And then I passed
again into the void,
where you and I who had no time
for the slaughter of the innocence
built kingdoms to the gods
of this world, believing
we were doing good.

And I saw me clawing
at the mud to get back
to where you are and show you
what my heart had come to know.
But the quickening rain came
as a deluge and swept
you farther away again.

I lay down in the rain
because I was too tired
to walk another step as I cried,
not trying anymore, no more
jealous of the rain, I let go,
dissolving and becoming
one with it.

The rain certainly hides a waterfall of tears. I continue to admire your way with words. But I would like to see a great talent move away from this somber subject more often. I believe it will help you leave the morass of lost love behind for a brighter future.

Understand the mindset of this sad poem. We can use different situation to show our pain and anguish, and you used a perfect one, the rain, the mud, the dissolving of you. Remarkable poetry.
