This is so sweet, CJ. My grandparents died way before my dad had any children; and I never new my grandparents of mom's side. The died befoe I was born. I do know grandpas can be funny. I've met a few in my time.

It didn't take us two days to visit Grampa, just about an hour away, but how I loved going to his house...I sometimes smell this certain smell that reminds me of...love. Well done, CJ, thanks for the memories. :)

I just love reading material like this that puts grandpas (and dads) in a positive light. I have just about finished a university degree in social science. The material has been badly infested with a particular strand of misandrist feminism that paints a totally negative picture of fathers and grandparents (especially of the nuclear family variety). More the loss to these bitter course writers.
My favourite relative was Uncle Ernie, and reading this delightful and breezy poem triggered thoughts of him and his loveably peculiar ways. You will forgive me for taking inspiration from your poem to do one in honour of him in due course.

Don't have too many memories of my grandpas but it sure is fun being one. This poem reminds of the times with Mo and points out the great times to come. She still likes your poems best, even better than Shel(what's his name). The thing now is for Mo and me to color in her coloring book, tear them out and then make up a story.

I think Grandparents are amazing...both of my Grandpas were sick from the time I was born until they passed away but they both adored me, and the times we did have are so incredibly special to my heart. This is such a lovely little poem...Michelle

This is so precious CJ! My children only have to drive 30 minutes in the car and still it seems forever to get there! Grampa's are so needed now more than ever! Stories of long ago, from the face a child knows!
