True story. Dedicated to my daughter, Bethany, years ago when she was only four ...

Poem Artwork

Me, I’m Public?

One day when we were shopping,
I really had to pee.
So Mom and I went searching
for a restroom, just for me.

We walked and looked around the mall,
past almost every store,
and then we looked and walked around
the mall a little more.

Then Mommy stopped and pointed.
"There's a restroom. Over there!"
I looked and didn't see it,
so I asked her, "Show me where?"

Again she stopped and pointed.
"See that sign above the door?
The sign says Public Restroom."
So we ran across the floor.

When we opened up the restroom door,
there was such a long, long line!
I REALLY had to go by then,
and I was running out of time.

I wondered … then I asked my mom,
"Can we go here? It says Public."
She smiled and giggled, then laughed out loud
when I asked her, "Aren't we Catholic?"

Nice one, CJ. Thing is, when you gotta go, you gotta go. Can't cross those legs forever when you're old, much less when you're young!
Good one! :)

God Bless
Love, Lena

Very nice write JC
I was in a man's room when 2 lovely ladies
from the same function I waas attending
Walked in saying "sorry" the line is too long
on the other side, I knew them both
So I stood guard at their stalls...
Funniest thing I saw in a while.

Love & Peace
William

Gotta luv this... good to meet you, CJ, and you is a woman after me own heart... there's so much kids' stuff just BUSTIN out of me, but I have so far only written a couple of things I would classify as designated for children. Nonetheless, the energy that the thought of writing of, about and for them conjures is abundant and endless...

My 17yrold had me in stitches just the other day. A loaf of bread in one hand, wrapped in a brown paper bag; the dog on the leash in the other... Dog had to poop... And how to "scoop"??!! Loaf came out of bag, between knees... offending item secured in bag... THEN... How to handle loaf of bread for lunch????!!!! Needless to say we were only told of this event as we were heartily tucking in that dinner time... TRUE STORY!! I would have LOVED to be in the bushes watching this unfold and seeing the mental wheels turning as he pondered his dilemma... Priceless! LOL K xx

Oh CJ, I started laughing at the first verse and the last one made me snort. Deliciously childlike. Who was the kid, you or your daughter? Hmmmm. You reminded me of Kendra when she was little. She came running in the house, holding herself front and back and said, "Look out, I have to go out of both butts" You gotta lovem.
