the biggest kid in the sandbox ... me

Poem Artwork

Sandbox Sand

It's on the floor
and in my hair.
When in my bed,
it's awful there.

In socks and shoes,
between my toes,
I've even had it
up my nose.

When in my eyes
it makes me yell,
but I love sandbox sand ...
... oh well.

A lovely write Cj
loved it
But for some reason I always hated playing
in sand boxes for that same purpose
sand gets on everthing yuk!

the shore was always my sandbox ... but either way it's fun frolicking in the sand ... keeps the spirit of the child alive ...

I too love the sandbox CJ...I have since I can remember. When I was a small child I recall the thrill of rising early, eating breakfast and out the door to play in the sand box, my box was actually a tractor/trailor tire filled with sand. It didn't matter it was still fun to dig in and make villages with roads and castles with pretend queens. I would pretend that my Barbie's were at the beach...oh the wonders of a sandbox and a child's imagination. Today I still play in my granddaughters big green turtle sandbox that adorns my yard, we play games together and let our imaginations run wild...you've penned a warm poem my dear friend one that has brought back memories of my sandbox that I had not thought of for some time.
Blessings and happy holidays,
Joyce Bowling

CJ~ This is so real to life for me today~ We had a bonfire going out back and my two wee ones were playing in the sandpile...Well, in the eyes it went and...they came crying to me , as usual...Smiles!

For sand we sure do make allowances... the associations with pure delight are just so strong. Think the boys might disagree, though... they seem to find it slightly more uncomfortable about the underwear, somehow...!! K xx

Oh yeah, I remember sand in my bed. It drove me crazy as well as in my shoes. But as you stated, I loved sand anyway. It seems as an adult, the sand in this poem could be replaced with any number of things. Nice write, CJ.

We're all kids at heart. The times I felt tempted to jump on a rope swing hanging from a tree branch, or running along then sliding along a long strip of ice in the snow. Going to the beach is a great excuse to let the child within run with a sense of long forgotten abandon.

Thanks for the memory!

CJ and her shubulls.(I've dot a code)lol A short, sweet ditty about the trials and tribulations of sandbox sand. As always, a clever insight into the kid in you. Who, pray tell, had the most fun? hmmmm.

It reminds me of when I come home from the beach. And yes band boxes can bring out the kid in you when you play with your children.

JC you look splendid building sand castles and writing these delightful poems. I know what sand can do to your eyes, since in summer we have small sandy beaches where to swim. Lovely poem. Victor
