we don't think about that long wait of 9 months for a child outside the tummy--must seem eternity to her/him. thanks for posting this one.

This is so cute!!! A child's perspective of pregnancy. I never understood it and I had no idea why it was in my mom's tummy and how she got it out. It was confusing, but the babies sure were cute and a lot of fun.

I love this CJ...I love the way that you speak through the voice of a child...so many times I read your work and it is familiar because much of your writing so closely connects me to my own students and memories of my children when they were young. You are such a wonderful poet so versatile and talented. I think your poetry would make a great reference book for teachers...you touch on so many real life issues that truely concern the lives of children, and addresses many of the questions that they have about life and situations that involve them, like this beautiful write...I just heard one of my students last week announce that his mommy was going to get him a baby brother or sister, and proceeded to tell the other students about his mommy's belly how it would grow, and how they would go to the hospital to get the new baby, but it was a long time before that would happen. You are a wonderful and talented lady my friend, I enjoy your work so much, always brings a smile to my lips.
