so many sleep dreams filled my night
I woke to the sunshine warming the room
content to snuggle under the covers
to linger awhile in dreamland

but the cats were hungry
and walked on my legs
pouncing and playing
with imaginary strings

I threw back the blankets
put my feet on the floor
stretched out my arms
and let out a roar

rejoice to the morning
a new days light
rejoice to the knowing
all is alright
