While riding the tribal appaloosa
I was blindfolded with opalescent lace thigh highs
The mane of the mare was braided with silk ribbons:

 Sheltering Our Secrets

Oh my sweet delectation

can you see the hidden catacombs

they are over grown today

with wild flowering thistles,

as my lily garden is budding…

The honeysuckle arouses my senses,

as you know, But to answer the question

of the question

inside the question’s quest:

I’d have to say it is because I am

more like the fruit tree, slow growing

& steady where my branches reach

an out stretching reach

with meaningful purpose

Abandoned between

the beautiful Colorado skies

and the flatland roots of Indiana

Offering shade to the mares

from the sun scorching heat

especially my tribal Appaloosa

As I bid to shadow her from the biting flies

those grubs wanting to infest her fresh brazen wounds

with eggs that turn into infectious parasitic larvae

to protect her from the ones trying to steal visions

with unfathomable perversion

…we can’t have that

You & I

because we love them with lepidopteran wings

We know what the metamorphisms of true beauty is,

and how we lay with the kindling fire of passion’s desire

So I bare myself to you in fragrant grass and flavorful fruits

Ahhh come sit with me in this sweet moment of quietude

Protective of all that holds my heart near to you dear love

Sheltering our secrets so restfully from the harsh world

Until we mount up and ride like the free sought wind

After her scabs from the hot iron have healed

And our name is branded as it should be

Seared upon time forevermore…

Such intense meaning behind these words you have written! A lover's quest to want more in hope that they too, feel the same..
The honeysuckle scent one to move lover's to the moment that it is...
Scent once shared is never forgotten especially between man and woman!

Don't we wish it lived on and on...??

Moved dear friend!

Epic. I'm lured by the mesmerism and the bait of countereroticism. Falls somewhere between barebacking and passivity. Saddlebag doctors administering turpentine to both of our multiple wounds with clean rags dipped in transformative elixirs. Explorative prose. It's ancient you know? True dialogue is in poetry and it is freeing. Corrupting influences have very little need for dwelling upon, and even less for the watch, we have no time for them. Our daily manna arrives by being penetrated by love. I don't doubt you not ponder the question within the question of the parameters of this poetry and come to the same conclusion that I...that it is explicitly foregrounded in dialogue that questions something much deeper than crowd-pleasing effect. The healthy woman desires mind-fucking as well as in the flesh. Is sheltering not a covering for protecting us from the elements and are not secrets memories of the battles of us fallen? We chose to get back up. There are so many token lines in this piece, and really, it's evident it's inspired. Your days are much more responsive and meaningful as are mine.

Deep down a place is touched anew,
Yours xoxo

Vickie, this is such an endearing write. The overpowering need to protect comes out in such grandeur terms and words. You have almost caught me without meaningful thoughts to describe how I feel after reading this the second time. I guess I will just have to say I am contented and leave it at that.
