I have worked with Senior Citizens and have seen such loneliness. Why can't grown children see their parents need them?

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray I will find some peace
My life is so out of control
How can I fill this empty hole

Tear stained pillow on my bed
Empty nights filled with dread
No one cares if I live or die
My family never even stops by

Children grown and with
Lives of their own
Never even think
About me being alone

Days it seems are all the same
And if I called
They never came
All busy with this or that
Never a thought of
Dear old Dad

So now I lay me down to sleep
I pray dear Lord my heart to keep
For loneliness is crushing me
I wonder why they just can’t see
