Now, you've gone and done it...
you with your hard-head
left us sitting on our arses
with our sad, anxious hearts.

I recognize that chuckle of yours,
thinking you have the last laugh
on your two Ed-Bros and Sis
and blowing smoke on your friends.

But, we're determined cusses, we are,
From Sweden, the British Isle ,'cross the Big River
to Canada, clear across the USA, North, East,
South and West, on to OZ-Land and West.

Still, I raise my glass to you, Ed
for the crazy trips you take us on
with your words...like poetic justice
you captured our hearts.

I want to thank you for being "you",
and sharing your beautiful son,
your dear Rufuz, with us...
with his own poetic verse...thank you.
(you'll see him soon-when you recover)

How...ever...dear friend
STUBBORN AIN'T GOOD
when it comes to your health,
and us not knowing your where-abouts!

Time now for you  the stone to turn over;
to treat your body as a temple fine.
You've got a whole Village of Bros & Sistahs
gonna be keeping an eye on you!

Rest while you can, Bub,
'cause once you're on your feet,
you gotta answer to the lot of us...
your friends who really do care!

Author's Note: Ed is not able to read this...now...but one day he will and it will be a reminder. He remains in ICU, but his prognosis is much better than that of a week ago. Your prayers are still needed, and blessings to Rene for her diligent care.
