Mourn the supposed blessed union of souls.
Each dressed and performing our roles.
Liken it to free falling into a large pit.
Ear shattering silence until my tired body hits.
Void of emotion, save the last sigh.
Sleeping with apathy, no longer will I.
Embrace for a moment, memories of old.
Passion's child has grown very cold.
Hollow eyes shall weep no tears.
A sob would only deafen within your ears.
Frozen hearts will surely die.
Overwhelmed-no longer will I try.
Hope was once a constant companion of mine.
I served you up my soul and on it you freely dined.
Oh, I was so hoping you would end this sorrowful poem with a "waking with loving care"...maybe that's another poem for healing? Enjoyed this, none-the-less :o)
