Working hard to entertain,
My fingers flying on the frets
I look around to see who stares
Into the soul of no regrets
Table number one is here
To have some fun and watch us play
The dancing girls are on the floor
Intoxicated lone wolves prey
A barbershop quartet walks in
Surprising us with serenades.
Red sparkle vests had classic style
In perfect pitch the last song fades
Run the red line tonight
On the sand in the moonlight
The fire that burns soft and low
Everyday of the week starts to glow
When you come out to the club
Kick your shoes off let’s go
I love that ocean breeze
Coconut palm trees
Captain Morgan in the Keys
Back on stage the break is done
The tempo changes, midnight comes
On Cocoa Beach the ocean roars
Reminding us we’re all beach bums.
The girls from hell with rebel yells
Were shooting pool and made a pass.
“Hey man, you guys were really great!
We loved the songs, you kicked some ass.”
One more beer, a pizza slice
Then time to pack it up and go
The music will not fade away
Saturday night it’s another show.
I love that ocean breeze
Coconut palm trees
Captain Morgan in the Keys

Well before I got married when they started to look wobbly like the pic was the only time they looked good. But hey you have to sober up sometime.
my ex husband used to say that the only thing worse than one gig that blended into another, which they all did eventually, was not having any gigs at all. nice write
Thanks this is really a fun one.
