Splashes of color in my life

Poem Artwork

The sun slips in the window

like a shy child looking for approval.

It shines upon the crystals I have hanging in a row

and throws a rainbow of colors throughout the room.

Red, blue, pink, green, yellow and purple fly

about the room in a dizzingly haze of color.

I come into the room and I sincerely try

to cup the colors into my hand to save for a rainy day.

Furthermore, my cats fling themselves about

trying to capture the elusive rainbows on the floor

and then go to their different comfort zones to pout

about their frustrated efforts to attain this goal.

The walls are painted with these vivid hues and seem

to flow with a tie-dyed effect into a spinning kaleidoscope of

colored paper and lights to give the effects of a good dream

that you wake with in the morning and feel good about all day.

The sun slipped in through the window

like a shy child looking for approval.

It shines upon the crystals I have hanging in a row

and throws a rainbow of colors throughout the room.

It certainly meets with my approval and

can come back any day it wants.

I probably will still try to catch the colors in my hand

to save for a rainy day.
