The Great Apes are disappearing from their natural habitats. Saving them by putting them into zoos is a way to save the species, but what happens to the individual? People come to zoos to read to the orangutans and gorillas. The orangs in the DC zoo have a choice to go to class (school) or not, and almost all choose school for the mental stimulation. They are exceptionally intelligent creatures. What are we doing to their world when we destroy their habitat and cage the survivors? (Picture credit to National Geographic)

So that it is not lost in the mix... Excellent Haiku. If the Orangs could give us [Humans] an IQ test, I wonder how we would fare.
