New Life
Visiting the grandkids, now that they're little people,
Not just babies who goo and gah, but talking up a storm,
Is like opening a book about the world,
And reading for the first time,
What makes me laugh,
What makes me think,
And what wonder can be found
In a dandelion,
A frog,
Or the spray of water from a hose.
I really didn't know how much I'd love
The sweet hugs and running races
Walking backwards or jumping over cracks,
Or lying down to hear the water trickle in the brook.
Such a lovely way to spend a day,
As long as they tuck me in early to get ready
For the next. Night, night, Grandma!

Your poem makes me want to be a grandma, but I am afraid I have a few years before that can happen. Very sweet poem with lots of great imagery. Thanks for sharing.

You are obviously a great grandma. When the grandbabies have babies, you'll already be a great great grandm !! (I make 'em call me
"GREAT Glamma." ;0)
Treasure Every Moment. They go by so fast.
