One day in July, I let in a fly
I opened the door, and he flew right on by
With a buzz and a whirr, he created a stir
He landed right on my little cat's fur
But then something happened, something weird did occur
Instead of a buzz and a drone and a whirr
The fly did a dance, with a hop and a prance
For his wings were on backwards, I saw at a glance
This surely was strange, we all can agree,
So, I asked him point blank, "Fly, how can this be?"
He said, "Don't be troubled, don't worry, don't fret
A talented fly can make a great pet!"
He hopped on the table and tapped out a beat
He spun and he twirled on his little fly feet
Then his wings flipped around and soon were on straight
He flew 'round in circles and made figure-eights
"So, waddya think?" he said, matter of fact
"Would ya like to manage my incredible act?"
But his voice had trailed off, and I awoke from my nap
To the sound of a buzz, from the fly on my lap!
