A soft summer breeze, a gnarly old oak
Decaying leaves or cedar-tinged smoke
Can send a chill up and down my spine
Reminding me of past times, so fine
Haunting memories, once laid to rest
Now plague me, like an unwanted guest
How I long for those sweet days of yore
In my heart, down to my very core
Old ones now, were just children then
Love came and went, then came again
The world was full of laughter and play
Now it is dull and dreary and gray
