Good and Evil



Arising together
From the primordial mist,
Two puerile lovers
Embraced and then kissed.

Then the good one cried out,
"Let's play a new game!
I'll tell all the world
I despise thy bad name!"

Thus, the plot had been hatched,
The pact had been sealed.
Of their undying bond,
Not a word was revealed.

Which brings us to man
And his high-minded ways.
By avarice and lust,
He's been dogged all his days.

For despite all his kind
And benevolent works,
An odious spirit
Inside him, yet lurks.
