Light Me on Fire!
I miss the old hymns that made my spirit soar.
The new songs are nice, but I want so much more.
I want to feel the music throughout my body, soul and mind.
With having it flow through me, like the good old kind.
When singing the music of today, I sing from my voice.
Barely feeling moved, my heart has no choice.
The tunes of today are flashy but they can’t replace,
The songs in my heart or the smile on my face.
Remembering the Old Rugged Cross and Amazing Grace,
Puts joy in my heart that spreads to my face.
Give me the Old Time Religion that my soul desires.
Please give me those songs and light me on fire.
