Lyrics from another song I sang to my children and grandchildren.

Poem Artwork

Hush My Sweet Little One

Hush my sweet little one, no need to cry,
Keep watching God’s holy angels as they fly by.
One will whisk you away on her holy wings of white.
They will lead you on an adventure of utter delight.

Let the gentle winds blow all your sad tears away,
So you can enjoy your time with the angels at play.
Bounce off those moonbeams so shinny and bright.
Grasp on to a shooting star while soaring in flight.

The fun night will soon end and you will be home
The angles will carry you, so you won’t be alone.
When your eyes finally open, I’ll be right there.
Sleeping beside you in my old rockin’ chair.

Bonnie May

Where were you all those nights when I was so little and needed a lullaby to make the loneliness go away and close my eyes to good dreams?
Beautiful stanzas, each one with a kind of a peaceful heart beat.

This is a lullaby so nicely written. It reminds me of Hush little baby don't you cry. I read it so slowly and absorbed it and find it comforting to me as an adult too. It must have put those babies to sleep before you even reached the end. However, you always think of good things for children to hear. Love you for that. Love, Lois

So sweet! I wish I could hear you sing it. It's a great little song, full of fantasy and fun for the little ones. I like the ending, too, where they come back and Mommy is right there to greet them. You must have been a special, loving Mommy.

Love ya,
Connie

What an uplifting poem, Bonnie!!! I think in life we all owe it to ourselves to being happy. I think happiness begins from within ourselves first before others can make us happy.

But this is such an inspiring poem!!! Wonderful work!!!
