The pain of child birth is long forgotten but this pain never seems to go away even after 30 years. I will always love and miss her.

How Do You Say Goodbye to Mom?

How do you say goodbye to your Mom for she was everything to you?
Many books have been written about it but even their words can’t get through.
The pain is so piercingly intense that it goes through every bit of my heart.
It’s a throbbing pain that prevents the flow of blood to every single part.

As I stand by beside her watching her struggling for her life.
Seeing her beloved husband’s tears flowing freely for his loving wife.
My heart is in my throat and blocking all the tears to my eyes,
Choking every breath of life from me, watching, as my mother dies.

Hear my cry my Lord, hear my cry, please take this pain from me.
Give me strength to get through this, let me cling tightly to thee.
For I alone can’t let Mom go, she brought life to my very soul.
Mom’s the one I leaned on, as my young spirit began to grow.

She was everything to me, and she led me to you on high.
She’s your loving child sick and in pain, I just can’t stand by.
Please God don’t let Mom suffer, I pray in your only son’s name.
Life with her not in it will be unbearable and never be the same.

But as Mom’s fighting hard to live, I know she’s doing it for me.
For she knows how much I need her and I just can’t set her free.
But you’ve shown me my selfishness by watching her in pain.
So I’m asking you now my Lord, take Mom home with you again.

You’ve also made it clear to me that I will see her again once more.
And we'll have a joyous reunion, when Mom & I meet on heaven’s shore.
No, don't say goodbye to her,  just say, "I'll see you once again."
For this is what God said to me, to help my shattered heart mend.

Wonderful poem, Bonnie. My first great grief was when my mother died. I felt so forlorn without her. About 3 months later, God gave me the poem, "Does Mother Miss Me?" That was what I had been asking myself. Through that poem, the Lord ministered to me. I still grieved, but yet was comforted by the knowledge that she was not only happy, but was seeing things from heaven's view. It won't be long till we meet our loved ones again.
Thanks for this one. May God bless your memories.

Love,
Connie

This is lovely, and says so much about your special relationship with "mom".... Losing a parent is very difficult... a mother, can be even more so...depending on the closeness... but I think this is normal for the most part... never letting go of those special moments...those times that will never be forgotten... I hope that one day when I am gone...that my darling daughter will hold me to her heart as you do yours.... Take care, and lovely write! lindalaw

I wish for you that your mom doesn't suffer...most moms are great and their kids miss them if they are gone and I see you feel this way for your mom if she were gone, so love her with all you got for now, as you have been and she will watch over you forever...in your picture, you have your moms nose...good luck with mom...ed

Hi Bonnie,no matter how long a loved one has passed away,it is still and always will be painful to deal with even though your life has moved on.I love my mother very much and to be honest,I would be crushed into a trillion pieces if she passes away. You and your mother were very close as I can see from the picture above. One day you will see her again in heaven.Right now she is smiling from above as she witness her daughter become a great parent and grandparent in front of your children.I enjoy reading this poem.I almost had a tear in my eye.take good care of yourself

Thanks, Bonnie. In two weeks it will be the second anniversary of my Mom's passing... Grief is a funny thing...it doesn't ever go away completely. Maybe not grief, but the love and missing of a dear departed loved one. There are still days that I go to pick up the phone to talk to Mom...and then I have to remind myself that she isn't going to be there to answer the call... Why my brain can't remember that...I don't know.

Beautiful, heart-felt penning...

There is nothing more sad than having to say goodbye to your mother, father, hubby or anyone, even a friend. You have put soul words into this write about your Mother, that makes me remember my Mother's passing too and my father's and hubby Tom's. So sad always have them in spirit in our hearts though.

You don't get over it, Bonnie. It's been over 18 years since our mom died (she was not even sixty when she died), and I still miss her terribly. Now daddy is gone, and he's been gone for only a few short months; I still miss him, and now they're together again. I know they live on in my heart, and in my spirit; I will never forget them.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(

Sad write!

One of the hardest things in life is saying goodbye to a parent. I've had to do it with both. Its a pain that never ends. My heart is with you, my friend. God bless.

You don't: not easily, anyway. You might not be able to see her again, but she lives in memory: well penned, Bonnie, it's been 18 years since my Mom passed. :(

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
