A Little Bit Hidden!
Every bit a life is being drained from you by anger, drama and distrust.
So much energy is being used for needless emotions that turn into dust.
By letting someone bring you down and giving them that kind of power.
Is only asking for trouble and makes everything good turn bitter & sour.
It seems now and then when one goes down; they try to drag you along.
But you must draw from deep within you because this is simply wrong.
Occasionally, we give so much of ourselves to others that are in dire pain,
Then find there’s nothing in us leftover, that we’re completely drained.
These are times we must meditate and heal, ‘til we again are whole.
At these times we’re not good for anyone. we need to replenish our soul.
It is good to give of yourself to others for that is what we’re supposed to do.
But next time keep a little bit extra hidden inside, something just for you.

Excellent poem about being yourself and not letting others tell you who you are. Yes, it's true, you should give to others, but as you say, keep some for yourself. Great write.
