Poem Artwork

She said what’s your sign-

What are you all about,

What mysteries are hidden

Behind those hazel eyes.

She said she was a Virgo-

Deep in thought and mind,

And she was the barer

Of truth, words and light.

I said I am an Aquarius-

With emotions buried deep inside,

Until I decide to release them

Upon the pages that I write.

What is your sign-

They say that the sun, moon and stars,

Make us unique and define who we are

And our life was predestined eons ago.

Well, if that is true -

My Star burnt out long ago,

Now there’s nothing to guide me,

As I travel the road alone.

So, if one stary night-

You make a wish upon a falling star,

Close your eyes and say a little prayer-

That it doesn’t change who you are.

Apropos poem with its simplistic descriptions of personality that have fleeced the pockets of minions seeking the truth they cannot find. But I must admit, as a Sagittarius on the cusp of Capricorn, that I do possess strong features in those left brain traits.

I really like that last stanza with its lesson of caution.
