Christmas Expectations

As a child Christmas was a dream to me .
Somehow on Christmas morning all my dreams came true .

As a child I appreciated Christmas time
and that appreciation in me grew .

Children’s expectations change with the times .
Our kids expect more that the kids of yesterday .

For instance today’s hi-tech toys have a mind of their own .
Children don’t need to think to play .

In my time kids expected nothing for Christmas .
They were happy with almost anything .

These days Christmas means a lot more to kids ,
Like long lists of things that they want Santa to bring .

See the children’s needs and their greed’s .
Children’s expectations have rearranged the games they play .

Its good to reflect on what Christmas is all about .
I’d expect the same of kids today .

May the child Jesus bring us the greatest gift this Christmas .
A peaceful world in which to live .

Happy Christmas to one and all .
It’s a day for the kids
and a time to for us all to give .

They say we are living in the Me age .
