It has been said
I’ve been blessed
With American Express
And gold-diggers Eyes
But that’s a surmise!
I like money
And fast cars
Bright shiny people
That play guitars
They don’t hafta Rock
But they’ve sure gotta roll
The Casinos like home
Do as you would
In Rome!
Eat drink
Party all night
Wake up
Go shopping
You’ll be dancing
Tonight
Holidays in Paradise
Recuperating in spas
I like money
And fast cars…
Baby sing me
A melody
Cos I’ve got a dime
But I’ll spin the
Roulette wheel
For the umptieth time
You win some
But you’ll never lose
You partied all night
Till you got the blues
A taste of honey
A roll of the Dice
You had some money
That felt soooo nice
It has such a powerful sense of superficial emptiness...the same feeling that permeates a life obsessed with the material at the expense of everything else.
Great poem and I could almost hear the melody that goes with it... I wish for this vain, shallow existence and would sing of it too... But alas! The only thing shaking these days is my post woodstock belly! Loved it... Lots of fun! And thanks for dropping by. RD
