You feel like the world is going to end.
I know.
You feel like you lost your very best friend.
I know.
You can’t eat, you can’t sleep. Everything’s numb,
so how is it everything hurts?.
I know.
People constantly tell you that wasn’t the worst
That could happen. Lucky you, they say.
Say you should be ashamed for letting yourself hurt.
Such a small trouble, they say, say, say,
SAY.
I know.
Oh how easily advice trips from our tongues
When it is someone else who fell off a cliff.
“Read a book, take a walk, sing a silly song.”.
“Stop feeling sorry for yourself and stiffen your lip..”
I know.
Believe me.
I know
No one can make up for all you have lost.
No one but you knows the terrible cost.
Crazy to think something like a poem
Might help, yet the woman drones and drones.
I know
I should go, but first let me share
Something pulled me off a ledge long ago.
Each of us can and must be our own best friend. Dare
to cherish, respect and, yes, reward ourselves.
Not by accident does every major faith on Earth
lean on caring for others as we care for ourselves.
This means admitting – no, celebrating – our worth.
I know
That I and others want to be your friends
If you will do us the honor of allowing us to.
But always remember that in the end
The friend you should befriend most is you..
For you have that honor and that power
You know
I know
You do.

wish I had this "back in the day" when I was first out of rehab. it would have really told me something. but, I didn't. however, I would like to copy it and keep it on hand just in case I could ever show it to someone...I'm constantly trying to help people and this really says alot of what I want to say alot of the time. and I'm not good at talking. I'll talk to you sometime a bit later about it, 'k?

"Close as Your Mirror, Love" like a Sun’s ray comes with the speed of creation
under the sounds of solidarity and cadence of humanity... It expresses the
Voice of a mature heart that has echoes of the creative inspirational songs sung
by mother nature and heard only by those who listen to its tunes which keep singing:
If you can read me I free you; if you listen to me I raise you up the winner's heavens.
I praise the Author of "Close as Your Mirror, Love".
Thank you for sharing wonders, beauty and understanding.
