Rocka bye baby
On Daddy's knee
I cried to loud
Then he hit me
Called me a name
I slammed to the floor
I wish Daddy wouldn't
Do this anymore

Rocka bye baby
Mommy's not here
I'm so scared
Numb with fear
Bleeding from a
Blow to the head
Daddy don't love me
He wants me dead

Rocka bye baby
It hurts so bad
This is the worst
Beating I've had
Daddy took off
Slammed out the door
I'm laying in blood
On the cold floor

Rocka bye baby
I'm fading fast
Don't know how much
Longer I'll last
A key in the lock
I hear Mommy scream
God, please let this
Be a bad dream

Rocka bye baby
People all around
Whispers and tears
I can't make a sound
Ambulance blaring
Blinking lights
Going so fast
In the dark of night

Rocka bye baby
Hurting and sore
Hope Daddy can't
Touch me anymore
I close my eyes
What do I see
Is that an angel
Coming for me

Rocka bye baby
I hold out my hand
The angel smiles
And I understand
She lifts me up
In her arms
Says she'll protect
Me from all harm

Rocka bye baby
The ambulance gone
More peace and joy
Than I've ever known
No more pain
The angel took it away
No more fears
Of a haunted yesterday

Rocka bye baby

Linda, so sad sad sad. . .
I can't imagine this kind of dad.
But it's the one you had.
Which by the end of the poem I was mad.
Like I wanted to hunt him down as the animal he is.

Linda, I can relate, from personal experience, and from watching the woman I loved, fall into the fear and trepidation, of her past, and ultimatly, leave, without a word. I'm still asking God to tell me why, He says, FEAR, not of me, but of not being able to please me. I know her love was, and is, real and true, and yet, will never hear from her again. She was sexually abused by her father, physically and mentally abused by her mother, and sisters, and literally tortured by an evil nanny. I found these things out a little at a time, when she would flinch, as I swatted a fly, or cry, when we made love. I can't believe, or imagine, or even begin to understand how parents, or anyone for that matter can abuse a child, a woman, the elderly, and so many, SOOOOO many. It's heartbreaking, and the only reason I could ever take a life, again. I wouldn't be able to not break their neck, if I witnessed something like this, or what happened to Teri. Your writes are very important, as the awareness of this epidemic, must be felt and heard. We must not allow this, if even a hint comes to our attention. Thank you, and may God richly bless you, and the HOLY SPIRIT, continue, fill your pen. Art

A most moving and heartfelt write..
How anyone can do this brutality to their own child is inconceivable..
But it happens..

Your words alarm me to the many who have had this happen to them in life and also believe this to be love. Sad is a word not quite fitting for the depth of this despair.
