Mama, as a child I didn't see
Just how much you meant to me
I wasn't old enough to understand
That time slips through our hands
I watched you work hard every day
While all I thought about was play
As an adult standing at your grave
I understand sacrifices you made
I look back on the life we lead
So many words were left unsaid
Too late now, I slowly kneel down
Silent tears make not a sound
I hope you hear the words I say
I LOVE YOU, Mama
Happy Mother's Day

That's it! Lateness can bring forth sadness at times!
A lovely poem to honor your mother.
Lady Mary Ann
I can't call my mother today because she insists that she can't get to the phone (or hear it ring). But she does call me every Monday afternoon at 4 pm like clockwork. I will wish her happy Mother's Day a day late.
