I like this poem because it is written in the first person, and directly addresses the other person who is engaging is wrong behavior. The voice is of a child. It effectively engages the other individual's conscience, I think. I have been bullied several times as a child. It seems to arise out of the ' Evolution of man ' logic Charles Darwin popularized. It says in essence, only the fit, the strong, the aggressive survive. This is contrary to our dignity as humans. As your poem skillfully conveys, we have better ways to stand taller. Bullying is the cowards method. Thanks Linda. Great poem in my opinion!

Having taught middle school, I have seen bullying firsthand, and I have been retired seventeen years. I can only imagine how it has changed during my retirement years. And so many times school administrators are wrapped up in their own set of problems, leaving the teachers themselves to handle even the most severe situations. I pray that all will go well for the students, teachers, and administrators throughout this school year.

In retrospect Linda, I use to get chased home by neighborhood children or gangs, because I didn't live in their community. Didn't realize until this poem I was being bullied! Jesus loves the children, precious is the blood of all God's people especially the children! They are not forgotten and will be vindicated by God. pray for the bullies! Peace!!!

Yes, with the start of school, it's important that you and your poem tell us that bullying needs to be dealt with, especially with young children in schools. Sunday night, in the neighborhood next to the University where I worked for 30 years, a 31-year-old mother drowned her two children in a bathtub and put their bodies in a trash bag under a neighbor's house. Apparently, the son had been expelled from school.

Until we can get at the social and psychological problems that create bullies, it won't go away. The worst kind of bullying is the psychological variety. Now that the kids are texting and on the Internet, they are much more available for cyber bullies to pick on them. We have to give our children enough self-esteem and keep them physically fit so that they can ward off all the bullying they're going to encounter during their lives.

Bullies are sick and sorry individuals. Sad. Their actions all begin at home. Bullies have inferiority issues, I believe. So many people are bullies even as adults. Shame!

Don't those kids just learn that bullying is an act of coward? Great kids do not bully others. Great kids support each others. Why can't the parents tell their kids that bullying is a form of cowardice and is not even brave? Picking on others is not a welcoming act. Supporting others IS!!!!

I'm so horrified to learn that another 10 years old child have committed suicide because of the continuing of being bullied in school. Children who are being bullied should report to the school authority and the school should be the one to hold responsibility to make sure all children are safe in school. They should not turn a blind eye until something awful has happened.

Great awareness poem on a very important topic. Kids have been putting up will bullies for way too long. I could not wait to grow up because of this. Still it's prevalent in the business world too but its more underground and behind the back pushing others around. If only folks followed the Bible all would be so grand. Amen!
