31 Years of Love Larry D. & Jenay Parker, Sr – September 16, 2008 Thirty-One years of love, trials, and tribulations, Every moment unspent as you continue to learn from each situation, With no hesitation you give each other love and loyalty to your family… is your dedication. For over three decades you have been a symbol and driving force within the black community, You have displayed to me, my brothers, our family and friends the true definition of unity, By definition together you are an undivided or unbroken completeness or totality wanting for nothing, you are integrity. Daddy, I thank you. For every step of my way, you have shown me the ingredients of a real man, You have silently yet sternly educated me on sacrifice and no matter how the storm blows you have displayed to me how a man should stand You taught me the difference between want and desire, and as long as I work hard for my goals, then what I dream to achieve I can. Mommy, I thank you. For being in the crowds for every game, I thank God for blessing me with your passion to dream and think big as what I see I shall claim, I thank you for your support, whether I’m known as Rennell or Random Thought, you make sure every mouth speaks my name. Together, you have raised a Kingdom, in which your wealth shall not be measured by money, You have allowed strangers into your home and covered them with your love, making them smile, when nothing could have really been that funny, You’ve faced hardships and endured headaches, trying to send us to college, We thank you for believing in our dreams, never letting up on informing us on the true importance of knowledge, Two diamonds in the rough, shining like new, From a 2-family flat with 11 kids, and a determined brother from the projects, We all know the odds were against you, but God lead you through. Not knowing on September 16, 1977 you would begin the sanctions of a dynasty, You have raised hundred’s of kids and treated them as your own; you are the precise meaning of community, You are the image of the village, a united a symbol of the resurrection of our people, You are my inspiration to teach, and to promote love to our children so that single family homes will cease and be foretold of no sequel. There are so many words that can describe what you mean to me, 31 years of love says it all, Happy Anniversary!!! We Love You!!! Love Always, US
